Ronnie who?

JANE WYMAN PRESENTS THE FIRESIDE THEATRE

Kathleen Hite wrote for both The Fireside Theatre,
which beginning in 1955 was hosted and often starred Jane Wyman,
and General Electric Theatre, where Wyman's former husband
performed a similar role.  Later, when the unlikely coincidence happened
and Wyman came to rule Falcon Crest in almost precisely the same years
that Ronald Reagan ruled the world, Kathleen Hite was writing her last
few episodes of The Waltons and three of Falcon Crest.
A Hite fanatic who sifts through all these dynastic ironies
will appreciate one fact unnoticed by political scientists
and Hollywood historians:  Almost two decades before
both of Earl Hamner's creations and all the 80s
ranchy power-family shows like Dallas and Dynasty,
Kathleen Hite produced a prototypical tv show called Empire.
But, that was in a past as black & white as the Dallas footage and Gunsmoke.
